Irene Wedemeyer, OTR ; Department Manager, Occupational Therapist
Irene is a 1986 Graduate of UW Madison. She has been practicing Occupational Therapy for 28 years, with most of her experience being in long term care and rehab. After working many years ago at Good Samaritan and the "old" Pine Crest, she worked several years in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. Twenty years ago she moved back to Merrill and has been working at the "new" Pine Crest since that time. Irene states she truly "enjoys working with the geriatric population." She has "worked in other nursing homes and always testify that Pine Crest is the best!" "I plan to work here until I retire."
Jim Korducki, MPT; Department Manager, Physical Therapist
Jim is a 1998 graduate of Concordia University Wisconsin with a Master's of Physical Therapy. He has been practiciing physical therapy for 16 years. Most of his experience has been in long term care and rehab, but he has and continues to do outpatient and home Physical Therapy as well. Known around Pine Crest as "the singing PT" Jim states; " I spent my first three years as a therapist working at a number of nursing homes in Wausau/Central Wisconsin. I have been at Pine Crest now for 13 years. I stay at Pine Crest because it is 'the best nursing home' I have worked in, whether as a student or professional. In addition the staff at Pine Crest and our 'therapy family' are truly great caring people!" I love being a therapist because I get to build relationships with my patients, and hope I can make a difference in their lives." Lindsay Athens, MS, CCC-SLP Speech Therapist
Lindsay is a 2013 graduate of the University of North Dakota with a Master of Science in Speech and Language Pathology. She has been at Pine Crest since July of 2013. Her areas of interest include dysphagia, aphasia, apraxia of speech, and cognitive linguistic impairments. She demonstrates a calm, caring manner, that allows her to connect well to her patients.
